I am safe

  1. The goal is always the same: teach your brain that the sensations is actually safe.
  2. Even if the day was filled with tough moments, it is still possible to give your brain messages of safety.
  3. It’s the fear, frustration, and preoccupation around the pain that keeps the pain alive.
  4. When you catch a negative thought and refuse to buy into it, you lower the danger level in your brain. Less danger means less pain.
  5. Notice the fear thought. These thoughts are automatic, and you may not even realize that they’re negative thoughts at first.
  6. Don’t buy into it. When we have a negative thought, our impulse is to indulge in it and ruminate on it. Try to just let it go.
  7. Send yourself a message of safety. We want to replace the feat thought with a quick dose of positivity.
